For burns

Hydromed

Hydrogel dressing designed to manage pain, moisture and protease activity in low exudate or sloughy wounds as absorb quickly and locally.

This reduces the risk of periwound maceration. Suitable for: 1st and 2nd degree burns, abrasions, dermabrasions, radiodermatitis, tirpid wounds and ulcers with fibrinous or necrotic bases.

Refreshing. Unlike typical sheet hydrogels, hydromed absorb quicly and locally. This reduces the risk of periwound maceration.

Indications:

  • Suitable for treatment of chronic and slow healing wounds in granulation epitheliazation phase.
  • Due to a three dimensional structure and high water content Hydromed is suitable for use in debriding and for secondo-degree burns.

Contraindications:

  • Hydromed sholud not be used on infect wounds nor on third degree burns.
  • Also they should not be used on highly exuding wounds nor on exposed muscle, bones nor tendons.

Compositions

Non-adhesive hydrogel dressing with a high water content(approximately 70 %)

  • The dressing is permeable to water vapour, gases and small protein molecules but impermeable to bacteria
  • Hydromed removal results painless, as the gel doesn’t dry out and so doesn’t adhere to the underlying tissue
  • Hydromed hydrates the wound surface and promotes the autolysis of necrotic and fibrinous tissues, promoting granulation on new tissues
